Houses soon for flood-hit, promises CM
Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa has once again claimed that work on the construction of houses in the flood-hit districts is going on briskly, and 35,000 to 40,000 houses will soon be open for occupation by flood victims.

Chief Minister Yeddyurappa on Thursday said the construction of houses for families who had lost their dwellings in the October floods will commence in full swing in all affected districts from December 1.
Speaking to reporters in Bangalore, Yeddyurappa said district in-charge ministers have been directed to commence construction work in their respective jurisdiction and monitor the reconstruction of villages and houses.
The CM said he would be participating in bhoomi pooja ceremony for construction of new houses in two villages of Gulbarga on Friday. DAVANAGERE: Govind Prasad Humanitarian Foundation has come forward to adopt Harischandra Nagar in Harapanahalli town, as it was totally damaged in the recent flood havoc, said foundation chief Govind, who visited the area along with his team to distribute food packets on Monday.
The 54 families in the area were given food kits, each consisting of utensils: 4 steel vessels, 3 plates, 3 cups, 2 spoons, 1 sari, 1 dhothi, 1 Bhagavad Gita book, 1 japa male, 5 kg of rice, sugar, tur dal , oil, soap and toothpaste.
Govind, who hails from Lucknow in UP and has been residing in New York for the past 44 years, has come forwarded to help rehabilitate the 54 families with proper housing within three months, at a cost of over Rs 70 lakh... more details |
